After the enrolment, the person enrolled, if he/she so wishes, can present his/her candidacy for Azorean Diaspora Councilor and be part of the whole electoral process: voluntarily announce his/her candidacy for the geographical area of residence he/she will be representing, know who the possible candidates are for the various geographical areas of residence and the commitments made, and participate in choosing the respective councilors.

Elections shall be organized by geographical area to be held to determine the councilors: one representative of Bermuda, five representatives of Brazil, one of each state of Rio Grande do Sul, Rio de Janeiro, Santa Catarina, and São Paulo and another representing the other states of the Federative Republic of Brazil, five representatives of Canada, one of each province of British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, and Quebeque and another representing the other provinces and territories of Canada, five representatives of the United States of America, one of each state of California, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island and two representing other states of the United States of America,  one representative of Uruguay, one representative of the Portuguese mainland and of the Autonomous Region of Madeira, and one representative of the rest of the world.

The Azoreans registered in the site shall be notified of the list of the candidates from their area of residence and of the elections date.
