Regional Legislative Decree no. 18/2019/A, of 5 August, which creates the Azorean Diaspora Council (CDA), establishes, in its subparagraph d) of paragraph 1 of article 4, that the CDA it is constituted, in addition to other members in institutional representation, by the “advisers representing the different geographic areas of the Azorean diaspora.
Through this online platform, the 19 Councilors were elected for the 2021/2025 term, distributed across geographic areas where the Azorean presence is more significant: one representative from Bermuda, five from the United States of America, five from Canada, five from Brazil, one from Uruguay, one from the national territory, the Portuguese continent and the Autonomous Region of Madeira, and another from the rest of the world.
